South of Everest,
this challenging trip features the highest trekking
peak in Nepal and takes in beautiful, forested trails
in the Hunku valley and remote Sherpa villages of the
Khumbu region. You will have unmatched views of four
of the highest mountains on earth.
|
| This
superb trek takes us away from the more frequented trails
leading to Everest Base Camp, and over a pass to the
east. Entering this very sparsely inhabited Hunku valley,
we walk northwards through a beautiful high alpine environment.
Mera Peak (6,476m), the highest trekking peak in Nepal,
towers over this pristine valley. Our route takes us
around to the North side of the mountain which offers
a non-technical ascent route. While previous climbing
experience is not essential, you should have some basic
mountaineering skills. Also, only those people who have
acclimatized well will be able to summit.
Our capable crew has an enviable record of the number
of clients who have reached the summit. From the top
of Mera peak you will view four of the highest mountains
on earth standing proud over many others which are still
unnamed and unclimbed.
After the Mera summit, the trail will cross Mingbo La
or Amphu Lapcha down to the Everest classic route and
to Chukung or Pangboche, via Tengboche Monastery. From
here we trek to Namche and down to Lukla. We fly back
to Kathmandu the following day.
